CONTEXT
After trying to get an internship to validate my second year of the BUT program, I went to visit my older sister during the summer of 2024. I wanted to make my time useful by working on a project that was a bit different from video games, but still developed in Unity. That’s why I became interested in ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). Several people around me, including my sister, are affected by this condition. Since organization and the seek for dopamine are recurring concerns for these people, I decided to develop a task manager focused on providing satisfaction through different methods (visual feedback, audio feedback, customization, rewards, etc.). So for two months, I worked on this software while gathering as much feedback as possible from the people around me who were directly concerned.
USAGE
(1) The Main Tab with multiple tasks
(2) Color customization panel on a task
(3) The Timer Tab
(4) The Timer Tab - Timer Tasks
(5) The Timer Tab - Linking Task
(6) Sfx Customization Menu
TasqManager is a task management software designed to make completing tasks satisfying! It is divided
into three main sections:
- Main Menu (1): Where all tasks to be completed are listed,
- Timer Tab (3): A space to time yourself while working on tasks (inspired by the Pomodoro Timer),
- Settings: While seemingly unimportant, this section is actually very useful for replacing the app's music
and sounds with any audio file(s) of your choice! (6)
Tasks in TasqManager have numerous attributes. They can contain subtasks, a description, be color-coded (2),
marked as favorites, and of course, marked as completed ! You can create tasks in the Main Menu Tab but also the Timer Tab (4).
Ones created in the later can be linked to any other task in the Main Menu (5) ! Additionally, you can create task profiles to separate tasks based on
their nature (work, leisure, etc.).
TASQMANAGER, A CREATIVE SUMMER WELL SPENT
The TasqManager project allowed me to develop mainly with external feedback for the
first time and to improve my knowledge of UI design in Unity.
Although not all the planned features for this software could be implemented,
I really had a blast making it ! It kept me busy until classes started again, and that’s
exactly what I wanted.
